Location
We're getting married at the Bear of Rodborough Hotel, which is set within acres of National Trust land overlooking the Cotswolds. A former 17th century coaching inn, there's plenty of space for you to explore and make yourselves comfortable. It's around a 45 minute drive from Bristol but there's plenty of parking and the option for you to stay a night or two.

You'd be very welcome to join us at The Bear. We have discounted rates for any wedding guests wanting to stay either the night before, the night of - or both nights of the wedding.
Don't worry - there's enough rooms on hold for any guests who might want to stay on the wedding evening. If you'd like to stay at the venue the night before the wedding too, we'd recommend booking sooner rather than later - a 25% deposit is required to reserve a room with the remainder balance due upon departure.

Useful details
Public Transport
The nearest train station is Stroud, where you can travel directly from London, and there are regular trains from Bristol (often via Gloucester or Swindon).

The Bear is 2 miles from the station. Although the walk between the two is lovely, it involves a massive hill and can often be muddy.
​
There is no regular bus service, but there is a taxi rank at the train station and in the town. It may be worth booking one in advance.
Children
Although we'd like to invite everyone, we are limited on numbers and sadly we can't accommodate all the kids as well as adults. It's really important to us that you can make it and feel comfortable, so if they'd really like to come or if you're struggling with childcare, please let us know and we'll do our best to work something out.
Arrival times
The ceremony will start at 12pm so please arrive in plenty of time - if you'd like to arrive a little early The Bear will be serving tea and coffee at the bar so that you can relax and unwind before the day's activities commence.

Dietary requirements
Please let us know if you have any dietary requirements when you RSVP and we'll let The Bear know. We're having a fixed three course menu but adjustments will be made for any requirements we've made the hotel aware of in advance.
Parking
There's plenty of free parking at The Bear and there's one electric vehicle charging point.
Confetti will be provided on the day, but if you'd like to bring your own The Bear have requested real flower petals (fresh or dry) to be used - no paper please.
